So the applications for the second round of Th!nk is open and this blog is being kept open too. The question is do we keep posting here?
I think this blog could be an important fixture in the Euro-blogosphere if we keep it going.
In the Euro-bloggersphere there is a distinct lack of group blogs and blogs that look at issues from all side and not just one partisan view. In Ireland we have such a site which is IrishElection.com. It is one of the most read Irish Political Blogs.
So do we want to develop Th!nk into such a blog or will we leave it wallow and die?

Keeeeeeep it going. Well I’m sure we will try. I’m working a 7 day week to pay my rent at the moment but I’m sure it won’t be like this forever!
we should definitely keep blogging here, but i don’t know how many people will do it. unfortunately there has been a natural end to the project in itself, so the motivation will be very low. i feel that on myself to some extent. i think the EJC, although focusing on stage 2 of Th!nk, should also try to keep this alive somehow, since they are the ones who started it and brought us together in the first place.
George you are right! Hence the plea to keep it going! I wonder if many will be interested!
Hi guys!
Since the discussion on the newly elected European Parliament would be interesting for everyone, both TH!NK ABOUT IT websites (the European Elections & Climate Change) will continue to be open. So keep posting here, and it might be a cool idea to write something about climate change through the European Parliament or political group/party perspectives!
I a bit forecasted situation today by my blog post in community page on 28 Jan.2009. I quote:
“During event (Brussels kick-off) I got real picture how big potential our group has. We shall see what kind of outcome will be on July. As experienced project manager one sad thing is common while speaking this kind of campaigns and that is the end of even successful project. From my point of view the risk is that all learning by doing (together) will disappear, the connections and know how are disappearing together with common platform.”
“While visiting in EP one idea come to my mind - Bloggers could be an (un)official council in EP. EU has this kind of groups e.g. Foreign Council which members are outsiders although (ex) political heavyweights. Bloggers council could try give ideas, develop channels and platforms to get EP more close to citizens. Maybe EJC could sell this idea to EP. The low voting in EP elections shows clearly the distance between MEPs and citizens - outside Bloggers council could make gap smaller - it has already better inside potential to do so compared to stagnated EU bureaucrats.”
From my point of view this kind of platform is needed. The other quostion is who is reading our posts exept TH!NK 1 participants. The justification for platform would be wide readership - how to get it I don’t know; probably the outlook should be more modern (cafebabel is quite good example), posts should be interesting for potential readers, the content should be deeper so that also outside media would follow pages. I also would like to distance the future platform from EP to EU (I saw one caricature recently where a man said: nice that EP elections are over, now we can forget the whole institution for next five years).
What I know is that I will continue to write my own blogs and posts in different forums. What I don’t know is how to implement points I mentioned earlier, but I think that EJC could be the right organization to make further development and apply some permanent compensation from EC/EP.
Fully agree. Blogosphere is mostly populated with lone wolves. Any group attempt is welcome.
Almost a year ago, I started to develop a platform (www.yourthinktank.org) for a new approach to think tanks. I wanted the thinkers and doers to respond to subjects submitted by people. Traditional think tanks are mostly partisan and their work is often not accessible to the “world”.
A very rudimentary version can be accessed here: http://www.yourthinktank.org/test.php
Meanwhile, I have worked a few other projects. However, if some of you are interested, I would be happy to start the activity again and finish the platform, with your input
can all pls continue bloggin ;-))
