A terrible fever has gripped Westminster, the fever of too many snouts in the trough, leading to resignations of top members of the Cabinet as well as MPs at large (at large is quite apt, criminal connotations…). Terrible time to hold a European election you’d think.
But turnout wasn’t dissimilar from that of other years. People who usually vote will have punished Labour, the Conservatives and Liberal Democrats too. But overall, no one cares about the European elections, same as ever.
Will this punishment mean that I am represented by a Holocaust denier, public school boy who claims to speak for the working classes who wants my British friends of mixed-race to go back to wherever they got that bit of colour from, and the happy go lucky Poles that I work with to turn the light of as they leave?
MEPs have failed to connect with voters, again, as if they were even trying. Does anybody in politics really care about anything? I am officially stumped.

I agree, who was putting the effort in? Labour is blaming their bad results on the expenses scandal - but I officially did not recieve any sort of campaign leaflet from them this year!
If people don’t vote the right way they should be sent back into the polling booth to vote again; alternatively they should have their vote taken away from them.
