I think we all accept that however important one deems the European elections to be, they’re still not that easy to get excited about.
However, the Parliament have thought up some downright weird videos that show a woman screaming with excitement and a man-with-an-axe - that are presumably intended to get people voting.
This was a the first one, a little teaser …
And this was the actual viral video.
I have to admit, I just don’t get the joke. I’m sure it’s hidden in there somewhere. Anyone care to enlighten me?
P.S. Thanks for the tip, Andreas.
I don’t get what you mean with you don’t get the joke…
Isn’t the joke (=the message) pretty clear?
Ohhhhhhh, right, I get it now! Maybe I was just being really slow. Though, judging by the comments on YouTube, I’m not the only one who was a bit confused.
I see why it’s (sort of) funny, but why that should inspire people to vote is still not at all clear. I did try to remix it a bit though:

I don’t see at as an inspiration to go to vote, it’s rather a reminder that the elections are coming.
I suppose that a success in the target group would already be higher awareness of the event itself.
