Susi Maurer from Karlsruhe is twenty years old and studies political science. She will take part in the elections on 7. June because in her opinion everybody should make use of his or her voting right. Furthermore, she thinks by voting we can show the parliament our interest in Europe.
Europe means for Susi flexibility, the possibility to travel in Europe and to take many different perspectives. If she travels outside of Europe, she really feels European while in Europe she feels more German. In school Susi learned French and took part in an exchange to get to know another European country.
In her view students often have a special connection to Europe. One reason for that could be the internet because the world wide web makes it much more easy to stay in contact with people from all over Europe and to build up new networks according to Susi.
For the future she hopes that Europe grows closer together. Nevertheless, she says that it is important that the different cultures and their traditions be obtained and a multicultural Europe can be built up.
