Evelyne Gebhardt goes for the social democratic party in the European Elections. What she experienced in Europe and why she campaigns for Europe, she explained in an email.
How important European Integration is, she experienced herself when her university degree of France was not accepted in Germany. Therefore the born Frenchwoman advocates the acceptation of university degrees. There was plenty of progress, but also in the future Evelyn wants to plead for that.
Europe affects young people everyday. Therefore, especially young people should vote in the European Elections. “After all it is their future”, says Gebhardt.
Furthermore, Europe is more important than ever in times of globalisation, since the nation states have only limited room for manoeuvre. Cooperation is important, because conflicts do not stop at national borders. “For young people it should be a concern, to fight actively for a better world. This is achieved by political participation and starts with voting at the Elections”, explains Gebhardt.
