Too lazy to run for election? Know a friend who would run? You both support Libertas? Great! Then nominate them as a candidate for Libertas in this years European Elections!
This is a bit of a strange tactic from Chairman Ganley (That’s what he has become known as in the Irish Bloggersphere). In his quest to challenge the elite in Brussels. While my previous post about Jury Team was just about independents in the UK, Libertas will be a pan-European Party and will give you the backing of a party.
The national parties are powerless in Brussels. The only way we are going to get real change is by uniting all of Europe. That’s why Libertas is building the first ever pan-European party in history.
But, we need your help. While Brussels is run by elites, we are building our party from the bottom-up. In that spirit, we are launching a grassroots, European-wide search for candidates.
This is your chance to nominate yourself, nominate a friend, or nominate someone in your community who you trust will stand for you, your neighbors and your hopes.
Now I am not sure how peer pressure is supposed to get people to put themselves forward, but it is an interesting idea for Libertas to try. One Irish blogger is trying to get nominated, so if you have a chance, give him a nomination or nominate a friend!

The problem is knowing what you are supposed to stand for if you do run for Libertas - other than a prop for Chairman Ganley’s megalomaniacal fantasies. The guy is riding a populist wave of anti-EU sentiment driven by popular ignorance of what the EU is and does - a bit like the US Republican Party is becoming the party of teh stupid.
Vote for Me. Me, me, me. Just not the other guy. He’s an elitist. Why? Because he’s in an ESTABLISHED party. BOOOOOOO. There’s a big stupid vote in Europe as elsewhere. If you are a marketing guy that is a market you simply can’t ignore. It’s where the big margins are and where the big capital is just waiting to be made.
