The main problem for the European Union is to get the attention from young people, hence the EU launches one event and comptetion after each other. Spending money, “buying” votes, but does it work? The latest hot news from the Parliament is that they are spending €4 million on KEEP - Keeping Emulation Environments Portable - this bascially mean that the EU will try to save games like Pac Man and Space Invaders so they will not be lost forever, due to the ever changing technology. Read a bit more about it here.
It is a beautiful idea but it also symbolises the greatest problem that the European Union is facing. Everyone knows how to win an election, it is not about having the most effective policies but it is all about having three or four headlines to focus on. Or like Tony Blair described his policies during his first election: “Education, education, education”
The European Union needs to cut down on all the information they are sending out about policies and laws, the information drowns the voters. I know this is very cynical but if someone (a spin doctor) could define the European Union in FIVE headlines/words, then it would be easier to sell. However, I do realize that the problem with the European Union is that it also consists of members that do there best to fight against it. Yet another challenge. So, what are the headlines?
My coder is trying to persuade me to move to .net from PHP. I have always disliked the idea because of the costs. But he’s tryiong none the less. I’ve been using WordPress on a variety of websites for about a year and am nervous about switching to another platform. I have heard very good things about blogengine.net. Is there a way I can import all my wordpress content into it? Any kind of help would be really appreciated!
