Its a boring Saturday evening here in Malta! Last day of February 2009 and last few minutes before being automatically eliminated from this blogging competition.
Thought to post my first post in this competition just on the eleventh hour, since we’re some 99 days away from the much awaited and anticipated EP Elections, and what I recall a defining moment for the future of Europe which though its not on the brink of political meltdown, has some way to go to satisfy the aspirations of half a billion European citizens.
Meanwhile, MEP hopefuls are in full swing launching their campaigns. Here in Malta and everywhere in the other 26 member states, launching of visions is becoming the order of the day in most European cities.
But why each candidate is launching a vision for Europe!!! I tried to find out its all about this word - vision! It turned to be ”the act or power of anticipating that will or may come to be”.
It can also be ”an experience in which a personage, thing, or event appears vividly or credibly to the mind, although not actually present, often under the influence of a divine or other agency.”
I wrap up this post by urging all MEP hopefuls vying for a seat in Brus or Stras to stop presenting superficial visions but start focusing on what matters, i.e. People!
